Report speech explain

Report tone or indirect style is used to tell what someone said without using the exact words the person said.

She said she was coming to class. I told you that I can't come. You say you will help me! (You said you would help me!). rule In the following example, you will see some changes when passing sentences to indirect styles: Direct style: I am very happy to take you to the airport. It's nice to take you to the airport. Speech or indirect style of the report: She said she was happy to drive me to the airport. She said she was very happy to take me to the airport. First, you need to adjust the personal pronouns based on who they refer to and who you speak to.
The verb tense is also modified according to its relationship to the present moment, which usually means
moving it to the past (for example, from the simple present to the simple past, as in the previous sentence).
